TheOpen Access journal Genomics, Proteomicsand Bioinformatics (GPB) would like to announce the award program fordistinguished articles published in GPB.
Thelist for the first batch of 15 distinguished articles was released in December2014 (Table 1). These articles weresubmitted from China, USA, Canada, Germany, Japan and Greece in the type ofReview, Research, Method and Application Note. The editorial award committeerecognized these notable and distinguished articles from all the articlespublished 2003?2011 according to the dissemination score calculated based on citationstatistics from the Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar, as well as downloadingstatistics from the ScienceDirect with the time after publication taken intoaccount. The selected papers represent the top quality articles publishedduring the founding period of GPB.
Thisevent is supported by the Projectfor Enhancing International Impact of China STM Journals (PIIJ) of China. PIIJ waslaunched jointly by six national organizations and ministries including ChineseAcademy of Sciences to foster quick development of China’s quality internationalSTM journals for better dissemination. As the official journal of BeijingInstitute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Genetics Society ofChina, GPB was one of the journals elected for the selective support by thePIIJ to improve journal impact in the global scientific community.
Besidethe distinguished article award program, GPB also supports Open Access publication bycovering the majority of the article processing charge (APC). In addition, outstandingarticles elected as Editors’pick will be published with APC waived.
Thesecond batch of distinguished GPB articles will be selected from the articlespublished in 2012 and onwards and announced tentatively in 2015.
Congratulationsto all authors of the awarded distinguished articles!
