Dear colleagues and friends,
It is a great pleasure to host you for the GPB Omics & Bioinformatics Frontiers Symposium 2023 (GFS2023) and the 20th Anniversary Ceremony of Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics (GPB)! It will be held in Beijing, China, August 2–4, 2023. GFS2023 is hosted by Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences / China National Center for Bioinformation, together with Genetics Society of China, organized by the Editorial Office of GPB, and co-organized by the Genome Informatics Committee and Biological Data Resources Committee of Chinese Society for Bioinformatics, Beijing Bioinformatics Research Society, and MGI Tech Co., Ltd. This symposium is one of the series initiated in 2012, whose goals are to provide a field-associated open podium for in-depth discussions on frontier discoveries, key issues, and challenges, and to foster future collaborations among the attendees. The invited speakers are outstanding scholars who have contributed significantly to the advancement of the research frontiers of omics and bioinformatics. Junior scientists are also invited for bringing the research progress into the discussion freshly from the bench. This year’s symposium has four themes: Fine Genome Assembly, Omics and Big Data for Medicine / the 3rd Summit Forum of Population Genomic Research, Frontiers and Applications of Omics Technologies, and AI and Application of Omics Data.
I am honored to announce that we will also host awarding ceremony during the symposium for “Top 10 advances in bioinformatics in China” (2018–2022) and to acknowledge GPBees who make great contributions to GPB as authors, reviewers, or editors.
We sincerely hope that this symposium series become a premier platform for in-depth scientific communication, knowledge sharing, and professional collaboration.
Welcome to Beijing!
Sincerely yours,
Jun Yu, Ph.D
